We made an agreement with the owner of this inn to pay $1500 rent for the month but then my financially abusive sister completely fucked us over and we were only able to pay $500.

Urgent Appeal for Help: LGBTQ+ Refugees in Danger

We are a group of approximately 650 LGBTQ+ refugees and asylum seekers who fled from Kakuma and Nairobi refugee camps in Kenya after being told by the Commissioner for Refugees that we were no longer welcome. We were denied basic needs, support, and documentation proving our asylum-seeking status. On December 19, 2023, with no other option, we left Kenya and sought refuge in South Sudan.

Upon arrival, we were taken to Gorom Refugee Camp. Though conditions were worse than in Kenya, we were at least registered and received UNHCR documents. UNHCR tried to advocate for our resettlement, and some of us were accepted by the U.S., but our cases were stalled during Trump’s administration.

espite the lack of support from both UNndhe South Sudanese government, we remained hopeful. However, one month ago, we were told to leave the camp. We waited, hoping for guidance, but on May 14, 2025, the government, alongside UNHCR, informed us that we have only 10 days to vacate the camp. If we don’t leave, they said force will be used.

UNHCR was present but said they are powerless to oppose the government’s decision.

We now face grave danger with nowhere to go, no funds to escape South Sudan, and no safe shelter. Among us, 350 have completed resettlement interviews, and the rest are still waiting.

On the night of January 18th, our family home was completely destroyed in a fire. We lost everything. The only things we were able to save were two computers and some photos.

There were seven of us children, aged between 23 and 7, along with our mother and three cats. (We’ve only managed to find one of our cats, but the other two are still missing). Our chickens had to be rehomed with friends after the fire.

The fire was caused by our landlord’s negligence. he would often leave large fire unattended behind our barn all night, and this time it spread, consuming both the barn and our house. Thankfully, we que all unharmed, but we are left with nothing

We are currently receiving some support from our village in the form of clothing and food, for which we are incredibly grateful. However, we remain homeless and are facing many challenges. Legal action against our landlord is proving difficult due to high attorney costs, and dealing with insurance has been overwhelming difficult. Unfortunately, our family is not eligible for much government assistance.

A friend of my sister has set up a GoFundMe to help us rebuild our lives, and I also have a Ko-fi account. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us find some stability again. Sharing our fundraiser would also be an incredible help.

I hate to be that person on here but I’m having such a crisis I’ve literally been crying to the point of almost throwing up and I feel the urge to do things I haven’t had the urge to do in a long time now.

I’ve been flaring up for like 2-3 weeks, and it’s been worse than ever before. My mobility is terrible, I’m getting low-grade fevers and flu-like symptoms every day. I’m in a lot of pain. My skin burns. I’m napping 2-4 hours most days.

Since I started going way downhill when school started, and I am constantly pushing myself to my energy limits to keep up, that school was the reason. I’ve been deliberating on leaving (I’m in nursing school and it’s super rigorous and long hours for me).

First crisis- I find out that if I do a medical leave of absence I’m potentially going to have to pay $10k out of pocket because they take away my grant money. I CANT WORK because I’m disabled, I just go to school. My husband provides for us and we’re trying to save money to start our life. This amount of debt out of pocket would cripple us.

Then, I go to my rheumatologist for an urgent appointment. I tell her about my symptoms. She says that my lupus and fibromyalgia are both managed really well, and my symptoms aren’t from either of them. She said she doesn’t know what’s causing my symptoms, she is concerned, and I need to see a neurologist. She didn’t think school was the cause.

She tells me that I should stay in school because I’m going to feel worse at home, even though I feel terrible afterward. She said I wouldn’t qualify for disability because my diseases don’t explain my symptoms. She said I need to do more therapy, do mindfulness and think positive.

She said it’s my choice to make about school but I can’t do *nothing* (I know that), and that I’ll feel bad and lose my self worth if I stop going. She said if I didn’t want to be a nurse that was okay (not the reason at all that I’m considering leaving but honestly at this point fuck it all).

I don’t know how to do this. I just don’t. I can’t do it anymore. I sobbed on the way home, told my mom I don’t want to talk about it, and now I’m crying in the shower.

I’m basically at square one again with what the fuck is wrong with me, have no idea what to do about school, and my will to live is so low it’s in hell. I have no idea what to do. I already missed a clinical, so I’ll have to pay to make that up and then do 2 9-hour shifts in the same week when I’m already burnt out from one.

Stereotypical Emergency Gofundme Title

Hey guys, I hate doing this, especially after being inactive for so long but this is my most popular blog and I need help.

I'm 19, living paycheck to paycheck with some pets and my SDIT, I'm severely mentally disabled and trans, living in the US, and I'm currently in a housing emergency that could leave me homeless in the likely worst-case scenario

Im an incapacitated mentally disabled trans adult living in the USA with my cats and dogs, one of which is an SDIT, I am unable to do basic things alone like grocery shopping or doctor's appointments, I can barely keep myself and my animals going.

the people taking care of me had to drop everything and leave because a dangerous family member wouldn't stop harassing them. They're currently trying to help me find a cheap place, and then get me a DLS worker/Daily carer, but its a hard long process

In the process of getting out safely, they kind of left me here in a hazardous situation because their emergency place didn't have enough room for me. So, now I'm being harassed by this family member, and I have nowhere to live and no one to help me.

This family member is threatening to come in and gut the house before I'm gone so our dad can move in. An offer we did make to my dad, but this person is under the impression it was going to happen overnight. And is threatening to do so in 2 weeks whether I like it or not, on top of threatening to get rid of my animals. This person is for one dangerous and violent, and going against him could hurt me. At this point, him and this situation are a threat to my life and he has been directly threatening my life more than once. A fight between me and this person would also put more strain than there already is on my dad and mine relationship. I want to move out by next month to avoid this situation.

I need to find a house or lenient apartment for rent, that accepts animals and isn't discriminatory against low income, disability, government support, and LGBT+, but I can barely afford rent here let alone a down payment on top of rent and a moving truck by next month. On top of finding a place that accepts Section 8 or low income, and then even having to wait to see if I can get a Section 8 voucher, and feeling unsafe in my current home, it's been hard. This is my first time doing any of this.

If I could make maybe 1k USD or more that'd help so much with getting at least a basic place to stay in when I find one

No one is obligated to help, but every little bit helps at the moment, I wouldn't be making this post if I wasn't desperate. I don't need food, or necessities except maybe cat food, I have enough for right now I just need a roof over my head
